Bike To School Initiative Started by Vienna School Parents

With the concern of childhood obesity on the rise many want to see their children get more exercise by walking or biking to school. The proposed idea is called a bike train where chaperones will supervise the children as a bike or walk to an elementary school in Vienna. Jeff Anderson has led the effort in Vienna and has three kids who participate in the program. The idea emphasizes safety of the students while promoting exercise. Since the inception, other school districts are looking at ways they can encourage more exercise. There is no substitute for fresh air and exercise in the development of a child.
