Stop for School Buses Law in Falls Church Gets New Enforcement Video Cameras

Stop For A Bus or Get a Ticket in Falls Church Virginia!

Falls Church Virginia is the first school district to implement a new type of video surveillance camera that can take a picture of automobiles that fail to stop for a school bus. Remember, it is illegal in Virginia to drive past a school bus while it is picking up or dropping off a student. The idea for the project came from the community. The city has utilized these cameras as a means of reducing the number of cars who fail to stop. Bus drivers were asked to keep a manual count of cars over a three-day period. Drivers counted over 60 violations from passing motorists. The fine will be $250 dollars.
